Candace Hoitenga, LMSW

Care Manager and Mental Health Counselor

Candace was born and raised in Holland, MI. She attended Calvin College, where she received her bachelor’s in social work and then went on to the University of Michigan School of Social Work for graduate school. There, she obtained her Master’s in Social Work, specializing in work with children/youth and global social work. Since graduating, she has gained clinical experience in a couple of different settings: a behavior interventionist working with refugee children/teens in the foster care system, a behavior interventionist at an elementary school, and a school social worker in an elementary school setting.

Candace loves working with children and their families in order to meet their various social emotional/behavioral needs. She specializes in working with children and teens with ADHD, autism, anxiety, trauma, and general behavioral concerns. Candace believes that “kids do well when they can” and will meet each child/teen where they are at in order to celebrate who they are and best support their specific needs.

Outside of the office, Candace enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially her niece and nephews! She loves traveling and exploring new places both nearby and abroad. Other hobbies include golfing, Latin dancing, trying new coffee shops, and singing. She can’t wait to meet you!
